Excerpted from: "10 Simple Steps to a New, True You" by JA Carlton
Think back to the first time someone asked you what you wanted to be. Remember the enthusiasm you had perhaps to be a traveling circus veterinarian and astronaut cop, before someone stole it away with a disapproving look or a condescending pat on the head as they quickly straightened you out and told you you were going to be a doctor, or lawyer, or something 'respectable'.
That may well have been the first time your personal worth was determined by someone else's judgement, and every decision and every guiding force from that moment forward was designed to elicit the approval of that one person who intimated that you and what made you happy wasn't good enough for THEM.
Now is the time you take back your self worth. Now is the time you shrug off the dogmas and indoctrinations of others and stand on the merit whose basis comes from within YOU, not from someone else or their failings or expectations. From YOU!
365 days a year, 24 hours a day, from the moment you are born till the day you die there is only one PERSON who will never leave your side. YOU. Now is the time for you to reclaim who you always knew you were meant to be!
Today I'm going to start sharing with you a few of the tools you're going to need to take that self worth back.
It all starts with the ABC's and 123's.
A) AWAKEN to the fact that YOU deserve fulfillment and satisfaction with YOUR life!
B) BUDGET whatever you have to; money, energy, resources and most importantly TIME.
C) CREATE your plan.
1. Research the necessary steps required to attain your goal.
2. Find local resources, in the form of a mentor or advisor who can point you in the right direction.
3. Take that first step.
Remember "The journey of one thousand miles begins with a single step." Lao Tsu.
You've lived the status quo for a long time.
Now, as they say in screenwriting; it's time to force your hero (in this case you) to heed the call to action.
